Alien Invasion… For Dinner???

The aliens are coming! The aliens are coming!

I told you that I was going to make dinner time more fun and exciting. How fun is this idea?!?! My kids loved it! This idea came from the cookbook Just For Kids Collection. (If you missed my Octo-Dog post you MUST check it out here!)

Here’s another fun and easy dinner recipe!

What you’ll need:
* 1 can refrigerated biscuits
* sloppy joe filling or any other kind of filling you would like

You can fill the spaceships with just about anything. The recipe called for pulled pork but my kids aren’t big pulled pork fans. But they do love sloppy joes. So I made sloppy joe meat. (That was super hard. I cooked a pound of ground turkey and added a can of sloppy joe sauce to it.)

Cut a bicuit in half and add some sloppy joe mix in the center of one half. Put some water around the edge to seal it and place the other half on top.

Crimp the edges with a fork.

Bake according to the directions on the can of biscuit dough! Yep, it’s that simple!
And now for the alien.
You will need:
* 2 cherry tomatoes
* zuchini (3 slices) You could also use cucumber
* chow mein noodles
* raisin
* cream cheese
The picture is pretty self explanitory. I used a toothpick poked down the center to hold it all together.
What do you think? Would you’re kids love this for dinner?!?!

  4. Love the alien!! My kids love cherry tomatoes so he’s going to be a big hit. We don’t really make ‘sloppy joes’ here in Australia, but I’m sure the alien spaceship could be suspiciously sandwich-shaped when the time comes!! Thanks for the great idea. x
