I’ve decided that I’m a little bored with cooking. I make the same basic things for dinners and I’m getting tired of it. Dinner should be fun, right? So that’s our new theme for the summer. Fun food! So we bought a couple of fun kid’s cookbooks. This is the first thing we made – an Octo-Dog dinner.
(We seem to be on a hot dog kick =o) after our Hot Dog Cookies.)
We got this idea from the cookbook “Favorite Brand Names: Simple 1-2-3 : Cooking For Kids”.
It was pretty easy and doesn’t it look cute?
Lay one hot dog on it’s side with the end facing you. Starting one inch from the end of the hot do, slice hot dog vertically in half.
Roll the hot dog 1/4 turn. Slice again. Repeat until you have a total of 8 legs.

And let’s not forget
Omg! That is the cutest thing ever! I have to make that for my grandkids. Thanks for sharing.

I’ve done this with the kids before, they have a lot of fun with it! I like to stick raw spaghetti in cut hot dogs and cook them to make a little noodle hotdog octopus!
The kids would live this. I love your posts they’re so fun.
this is too too cute!! i love it!
We used to do this all of the time, except we only did 4 legs. They curl up better when they are a little thicker. We haven’t done it in a long time. Thanks for the good memories!
Thanks for linking to Messy Monday!!
Cute and simple…I’m going to do this. Love the addition of the goldfish crackers!

Too cute! The next time I make hot dogs for my kids (the husband and the mama), I’m making this! Thank you. 🙂

Hi Erin, What a fantastic idea! My kids will love this!
Awesome dish for kids! I made some octopuses using spagetti noodles stuck through cut up weinies and my kids loved them! Thanks for sharing at It’s Party Time Thursday at PonyTails&FishScales!
Okay, that made me laugh out loud! We once had green breakfast on St. Patrick’s day. Even though they tasted normal, none of us could quite stomach the green eggs!
great job!! I’ve seen this in a cookbook but maybe not with the goldfish. Cuteness!!
Haha! That’s so cute and funny! I love it! I don’t have any kiddos yet to make this for. I wonder what my husband would think if I served this to him. haha
Hilarious! Also a leetle bit scary! I love it!

Love this!

I did this for my son’s third “ocean” birthday. I also made blue JELLO in a trifle dish with red gummy fish and animals for the ocean. He had an octopus cake…. way fun!
