I think I should just rename my blog “All the ideas I steal from Family Fun”. Seriously. Because whenever we get the magazine we all look through it and say “Oh, we have to make that!” about a million times. This was no exception. We had to make this, of course. I mean really… hot […]
Angry birds seem to be the thing right now. When we were trick or treating there were so many houses that had Angry Bird pumpkins. They were super cool. So when I saw this cute sandwich over on Jill’s blog, Kitchen Fun with My Three Sons, this just seemed like the perfect fun meal. And […]
My Mom called me the other day and asked if I would bring a fruit tray to the family gathering we were having. To me, this was an open invitation for some fruit creativity. I mean, I could have just sliced up some fruit and plopped it on a plate. But really??? That’s not how […]
We’re taking a little break from all of our holiday desserts to bring you a dinner idea. Crazy, right? Not so much if you know me. I just love making fun foods for my kids and with Easter coming up, I thought these Sloppy Joe Baskets would be fun to serve for dinner. They look […]
I’m always on the search for fun foods to make for me… I mean my kids. Ah heck, who am I foolin’. I’d make these adorable scooter snacks even if I didn’t have kids. They are so cute. And all the ingredients that I love! Adorable, right? I found this in the August 2010 edition […]
Did you read the title and think “what the heck?” If you did, you’re not alone. When I first heard of roasting Starburst candies over the campfire I was pretty skeptical. Number one, there’s no chocolate so that usually rules me out. And number two, what the heck? How would that even work??? But when […]
My daughter’s pre-school class has been learning Japanese all year. It’s so cool to hear her speak and she is so proud when she comes home and tells me the new words she has learned. At the school’s Spring Fling Bar-B-Que her class sang “Jesus Loves Me” in Japanese! In Japanese!!! She’s 5 years old! […]
This may not look like much but let me tell you… it is delicious! My kids and I love root beer floats and have seen a lot of homemade popsicles out there that claim to be rootbeer floats, but they are imposters. Thanks to Almost Unschoolers for this amazing find because here is a real […]

I am looking forward to watching my nephews and nieces experience the joys of Christmas. At 5, 3, 2 & 1 years old, they are all looking forward to Santa and the presents. Especially after the horrors of Newtown, CT, the innocence of childhood should not be taken for granted.
Merry Christmas and thanks for the giveaway.

I’m looking forward to hosting Christmas this year – I’ll be cooking some traditional dishes but also adding in some healthy, new dishes such as a cold vegetable and farro salad.
The think I am looking forward to the most at Christmas is for it to be over. I’m really tired of all the advertising and commercialism that it has become. Thanks for the giveawawy!
