Card Making and some R&R

How do you relax? Some people exercise, some cook, some eat, and some craft.  I’m a crafter.  I love it.  I started making cards and scrapbooking years ago and it’s a hobby/love that’s stayed with me. It gives me a chance to “zone out” and not think about all the things in life that weigh me down.  Unfortunately, lately I haven’t had very much time to make cards or scrapbook.  But that doesn’t mean I don’t love it and that I’m not still thinking about it.
There are so many fun ideas out there in blog land.  I have some friends who think looking at other ideas is “cheating”, but I’m all for it.  Why re-invent the wheel, right?  =o)  And with adorable ideas like this out there, who wouldn’t want to replicate them?

I just love these cards.  And I’m amazed at how easy some of them are to make.  You just need the right supplies.  (Isn’t that always the case?!)  But with card making it can be a complicated as you want it to be.  You can go out and buy everything, or you can start small and buy a couple of things that you would need and go from there.
I’m a huge fan of using rubber stamps.  Do you have any?  I have waaaaay too many.  But I love them.  I see a cute set and what do I do?  I buy it.
We did a card swap on our blog last year.  It was so much fun!  You can see all the fun cards that others made here.
See?  Everyone can do it!  And shortcuts are good; very, very good.
At Rubber Stamps Online you can find all sorts of rubber stamps.  And not just for card making.  They have teacher rubber stamps and address stamps and tons more.  Again, shortcuts are good.
Here are some more fun card designs that I love.

So how do you relax and wind down?  Do you craft, cook, exercise, or all of the above?

  1. This looks like such a fun hobby, Erin! I have not tried it, but fear I would be hopelessly addicted! I love to relax by curling up with a book, and I enjoy writing too.

  2. Fun, fun post. I have been making cards for years! I have a great card board on pinterest. Got to love it. I’m a copier–why reinvent the wheel???
