It’s Secret Recipe Club time again. That means I have been assigned a “secret” blog and have to make a recipe from it. I love this because I love reading new blogs and trying new recipes.
My assignment this month was Annie’s Noms. Hello! Delicious! Annie is the genius behind the scene and what she has created is scrumptious. The amazing part of Annie’s blog? Four years ago she didn’t know much about baking at all. (To quote her, she “didn’t know brownies from chocolate cake”.) Now? She’s nailed it!
After a ton of time (because I wanted to look at all her recipes because they were so dang yummy looking) I decided I was going to make her Eggnog Loaf with Chocolate Cream Cheese Filling. Oh man. This just looked wonderful. But then I saw her post for Mint Chocolate Brownie Crumb Cake and everything blacked out for a moment. Brownies and a delicious crumb topping? Holy heck, yes, please! I was about to close out her recipe page when the cheesecake portion caught my eye. Cue in harp music and small, twinkling lights and a recipe for Twix Cheesecake Bars and I was done for. Yes, DONE FOR! Twix Cheesecake Bars!!!!
I love cheesecake! But what happens when you add this deliciousness?
Yep, I about fell over too. It was that good.
They look pretty good, don’t they? But wait until you see inside.
Amazing!
These bars were (past tense because they are all gone) amazing. I took some to work and it was unanimous – delicious!
Ingredients
- 28 Oreos, crushed
- 1/2 stick + 1 Tbsp. unsalted butter, melted
- 16oz cream cheese
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 cups chopped Twix candy bars (4 full sized packages)
- 1/3 cup milk chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
- Grease an 8 x 8 inch pan.
- Place your crushed Oreos and melted butter into a medium sized bowl and stir until all the crumbs are coated.
- Dump the Oreo mix into your greased pan and level with a spatula or your hands.
- Place the crust into the oven for 9-10 minutes. Then leave to cool slightly while you make the cheesecake layer.
- Place the cream cheese, egg, sugar and vanilla extract into a large bowl and beat on a med-high speed until light and smooth, about 3 minutes.
- Add in the chopped Twix bars into cheesecake mixture and gently fold until incorporated.
- Pour the cheesecake mixture on top of the Oreo base and smooth until level. Sprinkle the milk chocolate chips.
- Place in the oven for 30-35 minutes until lightly golden around the edges and the cheesecake has set. To see if the cheesecake has set, tap the edge of the pan and see if it wobbles. If it's done the whole top should move together slightly, if it's not done it will wobble all over.
- Remove from the oven and leave to cool completely in the pan.
- Once chilled, slice into 9-12 bars and keep in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
Wow – Twix was my favorite candy growing up (I’m more of a dark chocolate and PB gal now) but don’t think anyone could resist these.
So glad you loved these! You’ve reminded me how good they were and I’m going to have to make them again!
They were beyond delicious, Annie! Thanks for this one. I’m definitely making these again…. soon!
These look so good. Twix was one of my favorite candy bars growing up and I can’t imagine how good these cheesecake bars must me.
Oreos, candy bars and cheesecake??? Holy wow, how can they not be good!!
I think you’ve just hit all my recipe happy spots, Erin! That shot of chopped Twix bars…good heavens. Fab!
These would not last long in my house! DELISH! Glad to be part of SRC group C with you!
oh gosh this looks divine! I love cheesecake in any way, shape or form. The addition of Twix just puts it over the top (in a good way!)
