okay I hate camping, but those irons look so fun, I want one, never seen one here.
WOW! love them…we could use them this winter in the fireplace…and have more than just roasted marshmallows….thanks for sharing :-)….gonna be looking for these 🙂
Love this post, Erin. You have a gift for turning a camping trip into a party. You must be the most popular campers in the park. I’ll have a ham and cheese, please, with extra mustard.
I am getting alittle to old to want to go camping much anymore but these look real great. I’m guessing that if they can be made on a camp fire they could be made on a pit fire too. Imagine all the possiblities here of what to make. Ham and cheese for example . Fun and easy to make to . Thanks for the tip
OMGosh! I grew up with Pudgie Pies!! My favorites were filled with apple pie filling, but the peanut butter and jelly ones were a close second. I was so excited when I found pie irons last year. I can’t wait for my kids to try ’em. Our first camping trip for this season is on Thanksgiving – yep, we’re skipping the Big Feast to go quad riding. Turkey and Cranberry Pudgie Pie??!!
Too cool and too fun!
YES! YES! YES! for pudgy pie irons and camping
We call these mountain pies and they are delicious! We actually made them when our power was out for three days in our wood burner, lol. We love doing pizza and Pb&J…can’t wait to try the bacon, egg and cheese! Thanks so much for sharing at Mix it up Monday 🙂
They also have hot dog irons!
Thank you for sharing this at The Purple Pumpkin Blog!
I had to immediately find out what pudgy pies were! Those irons look like awesome portable sandwich toasters! Yummmy!

Now those are so COOL!!
Those look yummy, and kid approved.
We do not camp but we do love campfires. My husband’s idea of camping is a lodge with a/c, cable and a pool.
But we do have an outside fire place and this would be wonderful to try with the kiddos on a cool night.
Hi Erin,

Oh, how fun!! I haven’t seen a pie iron in years! We always made what my mom called mountain pies in them with pie filling as the center. Thank you so much for sharing at Sharing Saturday!!
How awesome is this?! I can think of all kinds of things to stuff in there 🙂 Thanks so much for joining us at last week’s All my Bloggy Friends …. We look forward to seeing what you share this week!
What a neat little gadget! I’ll have to get one of those for my next trip 🙂
Okay, I know I’m late, but my family LOVES using pie irons when camping. : ). One of favorites is to bring pizza dough and pizza toppings and making calzones in them. : ). We also like to bring pie crust and fill it with cut up apples, cinnamon and a little bit of sugar.
Really anything made over a fire tastes good. Thanks for sharing!!
So how did you do the cinnamon rolls?
We bought the Pillsbury Cinnamon Rolls in the “cans”. Bust it open and put one cinnamon roll int he pudgy pie pan. Roast over the fire, turning and checking to make sure it cooks evenly.
