A co-worker of mine introduced me to this salad a couple of years ago. I think it’s one of my favorite salads of all time. I make a big batch of it and eat it, seriously, for breakfast, lunch and dinner! It’s crunchy and full of flavor!
Ingredients:
* 1 cup Miracle Whip
* 1/4 cup sugar
* 1 Tbls. rice vinegar
* 3/4 cup sunflower seeds
* 10 slices cooked bacon
* 1 head of Broccoli, cut up
* raisins
You can add as much of the ingredients as you would like. I love the sunflower seeds so I add a little more than 3/4 cup.
Mix everything together and chill.
Eat up and enjoy!!!
I just had to add this picture. My daughter lost her first tooth on Thursday and she was so stinkin’ excited!
I’m linking to the linky parties on my sidebar!
I love this salad my husband’s grandmother makes it and I could seriousely eat the entire bowl if it would not make me like a huge pig.
That looks so delicious!!!! I am starving!
Have a great day!
Take care!!!!
Never seen this kind of broccoli salad. Looks delicious – we love broccoli here so I guess I’ll have to try it 🙂

You had me when you said “Bacon”!!! Seriously, it looks so good. And easy to make too. I am late getting my kids fun food tag ready. Been a CRAZY week. I will have it put together in the next day or two. I hope you like it. . .I hope you haven’t already done it. You are quite creative.
Lori
Thank you for posting this! I too love this salad! I have always purchased it from Walmart deli, now I can make my own!
This does look tasty. My father was going on and on about a broccoli salad that looked like this – so now I can make it for him – how would dried cranberries taste in it?
It’s good to see this recipe. I’ve had at pot lucks and such and I always like it, but I wasn’t sure how to make it. I’ve always been sure that I hate Miracle Whip. I NEVER would have guessed that Miracle Whip was the ingredient that made this salad work. 🙂
What a great alternative to my usual summer slaw! Love the idea of bacon in it too! : )
I always wondered how this was made! Thanks for sharing and for your sweet comments on my blog!
Hi Erin! I have tried to e-mail you a couple of times but I’m not sure it is going through. I hope it is o.k. to contact you this way. I was wondering where you would like for me to send the tooth fairy pillow. I was glad to see that you commented so that I had confirmation that you knew that you won. Also, would you like your daughter’s name on it or another word like dream or wish or maybe you want to leave it blank? Your daughter looks so cute with her new smile. I am so happy that you won this just in time too! You can email me at twins-squared@hotmail.com
Thanks,
Charity
Oh by the way my mom makes this salad and it is sooo good!
About the only way I want my brocolli is with some bacon! ;o)
I love this salad!! The picture is priceless! She looks so cute! Gotta love those toothless smiles. They are the best!!
Broccoli disappears fast in my house, and I am sure the addition of the bacon will help it disappear faster! Thanks for sharing this yummy salad recipe! I intend to make it for dinner one of these nights!
Oh! And Congrats to your daughter on her first visit from the Tooth Fairy! What did she bring her? 🙂 Beautiful picture!
I have seen a version of this at a few potlucks before – always a hit! Like the addition of bacon though!! Congrats on your daughters first tooth! My 6 year old has 2 loose teeth, but they are still awhile a way from coming out.
Broccoli salad sounds wonderful! I eat so much broccoli that my friends actually make fun of me for it! I have to make this!
Sounds delicious!

I always make a recipe similar to this without the raisins but with a cheddar cheese mixed in.
