We’re counting down the days! Which isn’t difficult to do right now because it’s only 4 days until we leave on our trip. Holy smokes. Just writing that gives me butterflies! I’m so excited and a tad bit nervous too. We’re off to Peru for 6 weeks to do some volunteer work. (You can read more about our adventure HERE.)
But before we leave to go discover the world, we are going to bring you these bad boys: Chocolate Peanut Butter Rice Krispies Treats with Chocolate Ganache. What?!?! Yep, you read that right. Yowza!
This recipe comes from Hugs and Cookies XOXO (which is one of my favorite blogs for desserts.) I changed the recipe a little bit but the general idea is the same.
This is just layer upon layer of delicious!
The first layer is a Rice Krispies Treats layer.
Then add a thick layer of chocolate peanut butter.
And top with a layer of chocolate ganache.
You can not go wrong with all of that!
Ingredients
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1 (10 oz.) package marshmallows
- 6 1/2 cups Rice Krispies Cereal
- 1 package milk chocolate chips
- 2 cups creamy peanut butter
- 8 ounces semisweet chocolate, coarsely chopped
- 2 tablespoons light corn syrup
- 1/2 cup butter
Instructions
- In a microwave safe bowl, nuke the butter and marshmallows for 30 seconds. Stir. Nuke for another 30 seconds and then stir. Continue until completely combined.
- Add Rice Krispies and stir well.
- Press into a greased 9 x 13 pan.
- Heat peanut butter and milk chocolate chips in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Stir until completely melted and combined.
- Pour over Rice Krispies layer.
- Allow to cool completely (you can place the pan in the freezer to speed up this process.)
- In a medium saucepan, add chocolate, butter and corn syrup and cook over medium heat.
- Stir until melted and combined.
- Pour over chocolate peanut butter layer.
- Allow to cool and harden.
- Cut into squares and enjoy!
Enjoy!
